Sharing my love for DIY projects...
I love to craft. My mother was very artistic and inspired all of us kids to draw, sew and build things. As a child, she used to throw me birthday parties where my friends got to decorate their own pillow cases, t-shirts, etc. I even dreamed of being a comic strip writer and sketched random cartoons about my friends. But as I grew older, adult responsibilities replaced my creative outlets... So during graduate school, I signed up for some jewelry making classes to have a mental break from my studies, and the very act of crafting something once more just filled my heart and soul with joy. The inspiration to keep making things hasn't left again and I doubt it ever will!
Sewing

My sister and I live across the country from each other and we both love crafting (her passion is sewing and mine is creating jewelry), so we make it a point to do a project together each time we visit. Check out our Facebook Page to keep up with our crafting adventures!

Jewelry Making

Last Christmas (2013), my dad and his wife gifted me a bangles making workshop at a local jeweler in Brooklyn: Liloveve. I've only really beaded in the past, so working with metal and learning how to solder and polish was completely new to me. Let's just say I fell in love with this class, and dreamt of taking all of their workshops.

So this spring (2014), I finally signed up for the silversmithing class. Liloveve has the best teachers, who are not only extremely creative but also impressively patient. Now I really really want to take ALL of their workshops. Here's a picture of the two main projects: a hollow silver ring and a bezel pendant.
Sooo shiny! :D
