I've been meaning to write a post on this topic for some time but at this point, I just let the professionals do it! ;) A few months ago, I was interviewed by SELF.com for mindful eating tips and the reporter said she wanted to do a feature on one of my tips: Plating Backwards. It's a technique that I recommend to clients to more easily achieve a well-balanced meal. As useful as learning about portion sizes and measuring them out can be, sometimes our overworked and overstimulated brains just need a simple, straightforward way to process and organize what we are eating. Click here to read about how you can ensure a nutritious plate of food with each meal.
As an added bonus to having SELF.com write about this strategy, Today's Dietitian gave me the honor of "RD of the Day" this week because of my dedication to promoting vegetables and in an almost effortless way! It was a very nice surprise, and from such a respectable magazine. :) Now go get plating...backwards!
